The Heliodyne Cool Climate Solar Water Heating Packaged System is designed 
to operate in all regions, especially where hard water or freezing is an issue. If your region is prone to freezing, then a Closed Loop system is required. In this system, special heat transfer fluid is used to transfer heat instead of water. This process protects your system from burst pipes during the winter or cold nights. Closed Loop systems are also recommended in areas where the water is hard because mineral deposits can eventually clog the pipes.

Storage tank NOT INCLUDED.
| How It Works (1) When there is sufficient heat to be drawn from the collectors, the controller automatically activates the pumps. (2) Heated solar fluid is then circulated from the collectors, (3) through the heat exchanger, where its heat is transferred to (4) water in the storage tank. (5) The solar liquid is then pumped back to the collectors to once again be reheated. This circulation loop will continue as long as there is heat to be drawn from the collectors. During times when there is little or no sun, a backup heating system will be activated to provide adequate hot water. |

Helio-Pak Heat Transfer Appliance (CLOSED LOOP)  The Helio-Pak (HPAK) is an all-in-one heat-transfer appliance assembly, specifically designed to simplify solar hot water systems and provide maximum heat transfer. The HPAK comes factory assembled and wired with all necessary components, making installation a trouble-free experience. A major benefit the Helio-Pak provides is that it attaches directly onto the hot water tank. As a result, under certain conditions, the HPAK can be mounted onto a pre-existing water tank, thereby reducing costs. This is a feature no other solar hot water heat-exchanger on the market can offer.
Note: This appliance cannot be used with existing gas or propane heaters, unless they have an electrical ignition! If the gas heater has an electric ignition, then the Helio-Pak PRO appliance can be used. Features • Augmented heat exchanger surface promotes maximum heat generation
